Welcome to The SEND Consultancy Group Ltd!

LAURA

Founder

Independent SEND Consultant &  Advocate

BSc (Hons) RGN

Advanced IPSEA SEND Law

Laura is the founder of The SEND Consultancy Group, established following her own deeply personal and hard-fought journey through multiple SEND Tribunals and Judicial Reviews. Her advocacy began over seven years ago, driven by an unwavering commitment to securing appropriate, accessible education for her own children with SEND.

One of Laura’s sons - a non-verbal autistic child with significant learning disabilities and complex care needs was denied an EHC needs assessment despite an Autism diagnosis before the age of 2. When the Local Authority insisted on comparing his development to neurotypical peers, Laura, drawing on her registered professional healthcare background and analytical mindset, swiftly recognised the approach as unlawful. Her determination to challenge systemic failings led her to immerse herself in SEND law, transforming her family’s future and igniting a passion to support others facing similar barriers.

Laura now leads The SEND Consultancy with a unique blend of expertise, strategic insight and lived experience. She holds Advanced IPSEA training, regularly attends legal webinars and seminars on Education Law and receives ongoing supervision from Education Lawyers to ensure her practice remains rigorous and current.

As a SEND mother and a seasoned advocate, Laura’s approach is meticulous, empathetic and uncompromising in the pursuit of justice. Through bespoke advocacy, strategic guidance and educational outreach she empowers families to understand and assert their rights within the SEND legal framework.

Laura is also the proud co-founder of Together for SEND - Kent’s largest annual SEND event - created to connect, inspire and support families, professionals, and organisations working within SEND.

Her mission is clear: to educate, equip and uplift those navigating the complexities of SEND, ensuring every child’s right to thrive in education is protected and upheld.

JOHNY

Managing Director

Johny brings both strategic acumen and deeply personal insight to the heart of the business. After decades of a successful career in business and finance management, Johny made the life-changing decision to step away from corporate leadership to become immersed in SEND Advocacy, a passion fuelled by fighting relentlessly for his own SEND children’s right. This transition was not just a shift in role it was the beginning of a powerful advocacy journey in supporting other families.

As a parent of neurodiverse children Johny understands the emotional, legal and practical challenges families face when navigating the SEND system. His first hand encounters with injustice and bureaucracy fuel his commitment to ensuring that no parent feels powerless or uninformed when fighting for their child’s educational rights.

Together with Laura, Johny leads a team dedicated to transforming the SEND landscape.
